China-based Chipnets recently announced that it has signed an agreement with Netherlands-based NXP, under which they will co-develop a platform for GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) /GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) Smartphones adopting Chipnuts' multimedia application processor and SmartNX Mobile software. The platform is expected to be used on mobile devices, providing lower costs and improved performance in multimedia and connectivity applications.
